A Possible Sideline

I was in Marketing for about a year in our company. Being in marketing, we handled marketing programs to help with the sales. One of the marketing programs we launched during our time was the LEADS Handog Pasasalamat Raffle Promo. During raffle draws, we were sent to different marketing areas around the Philippines to hold the event.

There was this one time when it came to a point where my friends would ask me "Kux, nasa Manila ka ba?" (Kux, are you in Manila.) first before inviting me over for dinner or a night out. That was how frequent I traveled when I was in Marketing.

The raffle promo we pioneered that year was extended to a part two (and three if you might know). Last April 17, 2013, the LEADS Handog Pasasalamat Raffle Promo 2- Grand Draw was held at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan. Luckily, they needed more manpower to hold the said event and I got a free ticket to come with! Heehee.

Venue Shots.
So compared to last year, I would say that the raffle draw that happened that day was more bongga than that of the previous year. Also, the raffle stubs this year were relatively more in numbers. They did not fit the tambiolo we used last year! What we did was to pile them all up in an elevated platform. (Refer to lower left photo above).

My part was to be the tech support for the projector and the sound system. Which is what I usually do during my stint at Marketing.

This is me in action. LOL. Setting up the sound system for the event.
Pardon the messy hair, I haven't had the chance to comb it anymore.

I say, preparations were really grand. We even hired a drum and lyre company, with matching dancers to kick off the festive mood of the event.

We also had GMA 7 come over to cover our grand raffle draw. OPS! The feature isn't shown nationwide though. I think it is only shown in the Dagupan, Pangasinan, and Baguio area.

Pandoy, our company mascot, also made an appearance that day. In the latter part of the program, he also did a special dance number.

Now here comes the sideline part.

I was not satisfied at how the Emcee was handling the event. It was soooo dull and boring. Events like this should have a happy, festive feel to it, right? So, after a short break, I already took hold of the microphone! Hahaha, no, I did not grab it from the emcee naman. It looked like there was a "host" switch.

Here I am, announcing the winners while my officemates were helping
volunteers from the crowd to pick out winning raffle stubs.
Showcasing the key to one of the Honda TMX Motorcycles that was given away during the raffle draw.

It's hard to read names in not-so-nice penmanships, you know.
What I love most about being a host are the exposure shots! whooo, PICTUREEEESSS!!! =))

Well, I do believe I did a pretty much okay job hosting the said event. Haha, feelingera kasi ako. Well, one boss said i did a good job and nobody else complained naman. So...LOL.

P.S.
Another job selection in the future?? BOUNCER!

Friend says I shouldn't make this face because I look like a bulldog! HAHAHA.
I was caught in the crowd trying to save our giveaways because we wouldn't give it to them so they decided to just grab it. Gah people. Nakikipag-hilahan ako like tug of war style. HAHAHA!

So, hosting and being a bouncer. Might consider when I decide to leave this place. HAHAHA

P.P.S.
This is not an advertisement. Or pwede na din. Whut?
