BDJ or Belle De'Jour is more popularly known for their rockin' annual planners that include discount coupons for girls like me. I was surprised to know that they also offer this so-called BDJ Box. Apparently, the box contains samples of beauty products in the market that you can try if you avail of it. I got intrigued with the box so I ordered one for myself. (For those of you who also want to get one for yourself, create an account and login at www.bdjbox.com)
I subscribed last April. I was expecting a box to arrive by May but the BDJ May Box were already out of stocks. I felt even more bad because I really liked the products that were in the May box. :( Oh well, I was bound to wait for another month.
Then, June came. I already saw friends posting pictures of the June box. I went into panic mode because I have not received mine yet. LOL, OA. By lunch time, I already got the package. =))
This is my first BDJ Box ever. When I saw the contents, I was a bit disappointed because compared to the May box (which contained more make-up) the products from this one does not really bite my interest. But anywhoo, they still do come in handy.
Yay to the June BDJ Box! |
The theme for this month's loot is: The Science of Beauty. I think this box is more focused on the Kinerase (how do you pronounce this?) products. So let's start off from there.
Kinerase products. |
The box included two products from the 5-item Kinerase product line. These are the Cleanser and the Cream. I might say the cleanser is really effective. It is the first time that I have tried a product that actually made me feel that my face is clean but at the same time moisturized. It's kind of hard to explain though but it feels amazing! The cream? hmmm, so so. I think the Physiogel (also another item from the box) does a better job at moisturizing. What I also love about both products is that they're almost odorless which is kind of refreshing, actually.
The only drawback from these samples is that they're too small. (LOL, kaya nga sample e) But my point is, if the whole loot is themed for this particular brand, shouldn't they have sampled more? I dunno, that's just me. (Your thoughts are welcome in the comments box below.) But then, when you consider the price of the full size of each product (cleanser costs PhP2800 for a 200ml bottle; cream costs PhP4950 for 40g), then I guess it would be too costly to sample more. (Haha, I am contradicting myself. Whut?)
Anyway, since Physiogel has been mentioned, let us go to that next.
PhP574.50 - 50g |
Product description says that Physiogel Intensive Cream "is a non-comedogenic (meaning it is a product that does not clog pores) cream that is enriched with Derma Membrane Structure (DMS) technology, and lipids that mimic your own skin's lipid layers". So, I really have no idea what that meant but I can assure you that this product rocks when it comes to moisturizing your skin. The face is not the only place that you can use it. You can also apply it to other areas in your body that needs moisturizing like the hands, or elbows, or your heel, or wherever! Haha. Bad side for me, I don't really like its smell.
Shampoo - PhP110; Conditioner - PhP119; Leave-in tonic - PhP259 |
The next three items in this loot is the L'Oreal Hair Fall Repair Line. It includes a shampoo, conditioner, and a leave in serum. I haven't really noticed anything if my hair fall count(?) has really reduced (because I'm still too sleepy to notice) but this trio does not do well for my hair. It ends up dry and frizzy.
Moving on to my box favorites:

My verdict:
Overall, I would say that my first BDJ box isn't that thrilling but I wouldn't say it's that bad either. It's just that I wish the products would have more make-up and perfumes (like the May box). I guess this is one of the disadvantages of these types of boxes. You don't really get to choose what products you receive. But then, at least you get to try new ones. :)
JSYK, I already purchased the July box. Teehee.
